  Our History
1970's -Glass Fab Inc was started in Robert Saltzman's Garage in 1974. Glass Fab Inc's first products were rough cut blanks to loose tolerances. In 1975 we purchased our first 4 automatic band saws to produce plano/plano blanks efficiently. By 1979 Company sales hit 1.1 million.
1980's -Glass Fab Inc starts providing primarily precision sawed and ground blanks to tighter tolerances. By 1984 we had expanded our automatic slicing facility to 12 machines. In 1984 we purchased a Zygo Mark II interferometer to select tight homogeneity specs. In 1987 we purchase our first Mazak CNC Vertical Milling Center to machine complex shapes more easily and more accurately. In 1989 we purchased, renovated, and moved into 18,500 square foot building. Company sales hit 3.0 million.
1990's -Glass Fab Inc purchases more CNC milling machines to increase capacity. In 1992 a Coordinate Measuring Machine is purchased to verify complex shapes more easily and accurately. In 1998 we upgraded our interferometer to a Zygo Mark IV. In 1999 we purchased, renovated, and moved our complete inventory into the building next door to expand overall facility to 25,000 square feet. Company sales hit 7.5 million.
2000's -In 2000, Glass Fab Inc purchases 11 new CNC Micro Band saws (bringing the total to 22 machines) to increase capacity, accuracy, and consistency of parts supplied. In 2001, We purchased a larger Coordinate Measuring Machine (with DCC control) to increase our accuracy of inspecting complex shapes. We also added data collection terminal as a start to integrate our manufacturing systems into MRP computer system.
Throughout our history, we have positioned ourselves to be able to adapt quickly to our changing industry. We are striving to make our people and systems better. This has and will always allow Glass Fab Inc to continue to offer high quality products at competitive prices.
